Certificate status & scope review

A certificate can support a job. It does not automatically approve it.

When a supplier, contractor or business gives you an ISO, SANAS-linked, product or professional certificate, VERISTEMIX checks whether that certificate is current, traceable and relevant to the exact work, entity and location in question.

What we verify before you rely on a certificate

A certificate is evidence of a defined scope at a stated time. Our review records what the certificate supports and flags where its scope, dates or issuer do not match the job you are considering.

How your verification document is completed: VERISTEMIX prepares the client record from the information, documents and evidence received for the engagement. That material is checked against the specific contractual, regulatory, technical or certification requirement named in the scope. Before issue, the report records the evidence reviewed, the requirements assessed, the outcome, and every material gap or limitation. A finding of compliance applies only to the stated scope and evidence available on the issue date.

Important distinction: ISO develops standards; independent certification bodies issue certificates. SANAS accreditation, where applicable, relates to the competence and accredited scope of the certification body — it is not, by itself, proof that every supplier, product or job is certified. Veristemix reports the evidence and scope; it does not issue ISO or SANAS certification.

How an examination runs

Method, stated before the finding

Every examination follows the same sequence, and the sequence appears in the report. A finding you cannot audit is not a finding.

Step one

The question is fixed in writing

An examination answers one stated question. Vague briefs produce vague findings, so the question is agreed and recorded before any material is opened.

Step two

Material is received and fingerprinted

Every file is hashed on arrival. The hash is recorded with the date, the source, and the channel it came through. Work is done on copies; the original as received is never modified.

Step three

Examination against a fixed method

The method is chosen for the question and named in the report — container structure, metadata, byte-level comparison, registry corroboration. What was examined is stated, and so is what was not.

Step four

Finding, confidence range, and limits

The finding is reported with a confidence range rather than a score, because a single number implies a precision the material rarely supports. The limits section carries equal weight and is never omitted.

Step five

Retention and return

Material is retained for the agreed period, then destroyed or returned on instruction. Retention terms are set before submission, not after.

A complete platform data export was examined to establish whether the archive's internal evidence was consistent with the account history it purported to represent, and whether the export itself could support a chain-of-custody record.

The examination covered archive structure, embedded file signatures, byte-offset verification of container boundaries, and timestamp consistency across the archive and the files within it.

Most of the value in an examination sits in knowing its boundaries. These are stated here rather than buried in terms, because a client who misunderstands the output is worse off than one who never commissioned it.

The sharper the question, the more useful the finding. Describe what you need to establish and why the answer matters commercially — we'll confirm whether it is examinable, what method applies, and what the examination cannot reach, before anything is submitted.
